F.O.M.O. Friday

Hey there.

Welcome to another F.O.M.O. Friday, where I review a different product every week, so you don't have to worry if you're missing out or not!

This week I'll be talking about the Sleek Face Form palette.

Clearly a well loved palette!

I have been using this palette for about 18 months, and I still don't hate it. I'm a very fickle person, and my feelings on a product, much less three, can change on a dime, so this is huge for me. I had wanted to try contouring for some time, some people make it look so simple! At €13.49 I really couldn't leave it. I'm quite pale, so outside of contouring I don't wear/own bronzer. I opted for this in Light as while I'm pale, I also have yellow undertones and was worried the highlighter and blusher would't suit me, which is why I left the Fair behind. I doubt there's that much between the two shades, but as I generally prefer to wear as little make up as possible (as I talk about my contouring palette, I know!), so I like the darker shade, as I don't need to build up the colour with it. It is quite a warm brown, but I quite like this- I prefer warmer shades on myself. It is not the most blendable powder, but like everything else in life, persevere and you'll find a way to make it work for you.

I look so jaundiced here!

I have to say, I don't love the blusher in this palette. Colourwise it is very similar to Nars Orgasm (which I've only swatched on my arm). It blends fine, gives a cute sheen, it doesn't do anything wrong. During my pregnancy I was very lucky and had a beautiful glow under my make up, through a combination of hormones and because I increased the amount of water I drank. Yes I looked bloated from water retention, but my skin looked so plumped and hydrated. I feel that a cream blush gives me more of a dewy, radiant glow. Basically this blusher does nothing wrong, but it also does nothing right for me.

Another awkward selfie. You're welcome.

I love this highlighter. It's subtle and very versatile. You can layer it over a liquid highlighter to give some extra dimension, which I am obsessed with doing. It's also a very buildable product, so I can decide the end result, giving me a more natural day time option and can work my way up to all out glamour glow. If I were only to have one highlighter, this is the one. It's creamy and blendable, and quite a peachy shade, which I really love. I think it looks more natural on my skin. It looks lovely in the inner corner and below the brow. It's an all round highlighter. And it's so cheap and it makes me look luminescent.

If you're looking for an all-round palette, for someone just getting into make up, or someone who's not sure what they want or need, this is a great item. If you have a highlighter you like, or a bronzer or blush, you could skip this. I'm very sentimental about this item, as it is a good item and it's been good to me, but I also know there are better items out there. It's just I'll always be the type of person to buy two almost identical lipsticks, yet I honestly begrudge buying a new bronzer, which probably would suit me better, when I already have a grand enough one. I love the highlighter, I'm grateful to have a bronzer and I do not like the blush. I hope this clears it up better!

As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! This was more of a rambling post, more like a chit chat. Do you prefer when there's slightly more structure? Would you like a post dedicated to the brushes I use to achieve this look? Or on any make up looks? I'm on FacebookInstagram and Twitter, and love getting comments on any of my blog posts!

Love,
MyBuzzyBeauty
